The Canton Public Library adapts to COVID-19

CPL Reading Room: magazines are removed, a "We Miss You" sign in window and a"20 min. limit" sign on table from just before shutdown.

Self-checkout machines are installed in the front lobby; an app is also available for smart phone use so that patrons have two options to check out books without exchanging them at the Circulation Desk.

The Canton Public Library Periodicals Reading Room is adapted to conform to CDC-recommended 6' physical distancing. 

The CPL Art and Music Room is emptied as part of an overall relocation of non-fiction items and in preparation for 6' physical distance seating for ChromeBook use by patrons.

All newspapers removed from shelving unit and subscriptions cancelled or suspended. 

Staff designate one restroom for frequent hand-washing use during work time in the library building.

Taped arrows on the Gallery floor direct traffic in a one-way pattern to guide patrons as they physically distance while browsing books and other items. 

Gallery bookshelves are emptied and repositioned for physical distancing prior to re-opening. 

Signs are posted to notify patrons of mandatory face coverings while inside the library building.

Water fountains are off-limits during the COVID contagion. 

Floor stickers remind patrons to maintain the CDC-recommended 6' distance to help prevent contagion.

Several touch-less hand sanitizing stations were placed around the browsing areas of the library and at the entrance and exit.
