Description

Pfc. Frederick W. Powers served as a scout in Company G of the 397th Regiment of the 100th Division from 1943 until his death at Heilbron, Germany in 1945. Pfc. Powers was mortally injured while attacking the German machine gun nest which separated his squad from their platoon. Refusing evacuation, he died on April 6, 1945. He earned a Silver Star and a Purple Heart for his valor.
